“It all started about ten years ago,” AJ began, his voice measured and determined. “There was a mage called Henry Moore whose life experiences led him down a dark path, the path of dark magic. Dark magic is what we call the power of the occult, derived from what people generally consider to be evil. Dark mages have powers that regular mages would never want to use, spells that drain life forces to make one’s own power stronger, summoning creatures of darkness, necromancy. Moore began recruiting followers to seize control of the country. I don’t know how long it took, but he gathered his forces and launched his assault on the magical world.”
Acacia blinked. So not only does magic and dark magic exist, but there was also a war between the forces of good and evil, she thought. Or I’ve lost my mind. At this point, I’m not sure which would be worse.

When fourteen year old Acacia Wheatley moves from sunny California to rural Pennsylvania, she thinks the biggest of her problems will be making friends and getting acclimated to her new school. However, less than 24 hours into her high school career, she learns that she is a mage and must quickly learn to master her powers before they can cause more harm than good. For Acacia isn’t just any regular mage, she’s the Heir of Swansgrove, the descendant of a powerful family of mages. Trouble seems to follow Acacia wherever she goes, and as time goes by, she realizes that it may be up to her and her friends to make sure powers of darkness don’t destroy her new home.

As an indie author, I love supporting small businesses! If you’d like to order my books, I’d love for you to either ask your local independent bookstore to order it, or order through Bookshop.org. Bookshop donates some of their profit to independent bookstores, and they’ve become my go-to when ordering books online. Or, you can also order directly through Ingramspark!
